As exciting and spectacular as this place is, I was the only student for a while. It didn’t matter that much in the field but coming home to an empty flat and no one with whom to share my evenings and week-ends was sometimes a bit hard. My internship partner and roommate with whom I was going to share the upcoming months was unfortunately unable to come to Austria due to Covid.

But this can all be forgotten! An other student, Alexz, was also interested in the project and joined us mid-february. And I can already say it, “this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship”; we have since been cooking, singing, laughing and of course enjoying our time in the field together.

Other amazing students were also here for a couple of weeks, making the month even more filled with joy and laughter. We went skiing, hiking, star gazing and played many card games (though only four of us at time for covid reasons, how frustrating). Having them leave after three weeks was difficult, bu we know we will meet again!
